Frequently Asked Questions
How do I link my partner's account?
Once you both have the app installed and have created accounts, one of you will be assigned an invite code on the home screen. Share it with your partner — they can enter it on their device under Settings → Link Partner. Each invite code is single-use and links the two accounts together as a couple.
Does my partner need to buy the app too?
Yes. TBNamed is a per-device paid app — both you and your partner each download and purchase the app on your own phones. The invite code is for linking your accounts, not for unlocking access. Total cost per couple: about $6.
How do I change my due date?
Tap Settings in the bottom navigation, then tap your due date to update it. The countdown widget on your dashboard updates automatically.
I made a mistake on a swipe — can I undo it?
Yes. You can undo up to your last 5 swipes by tapping the undo arrow at the bottom of the swipe screen. Undo history resets when you close and reopen the app.
What's the difference between "Off-Limits" and "No"?
"No" (swipe left) just removes the name from your deck. "Off-Limits" (swipe down) bans the name for both partners — your partner can no longer swipe right on it. Use Off-Limits sparingly for names you're absolutely against.
Can I add my own names?
Yes. From the Swipe screen, tap the + button to add a custom name. Custom names appear in your partner's next 20 swipes and are private to your couple.
Why aren't I seeing names anymore?
You may have run out of names that match your filter settings. Open Filters and try widening your criteria (e.g., remove a first-letter restriction or include more popularity years).
Account & Data
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. This action is permanent and immediate — all your data (profile, swipes, matches, comments, custom names, partner link) is removed and cannot be recovered. A new purchase would be required if you want to use the app again.
Will deleting my account affect my partner?
Your partner's account remains active, but the couple link is severed. Shared data such as matches and the off-limits list will no longer be visible to your partner once your data is deleted.
How do I export or download my data?
Email us at info@illuminationlab.io with the subject line "Data Export Request" and we'll send you a JSON file of your account data within 30 days.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not directly handle refunds — please contact the appropriate store:

If your refund request is denied and you believe there's a defect with the app, email us with the details and we'll do our best to help.
